Create PDF ready Graph Paper in ActivInspire

I’ve been trying to figure out the fastest way to make reusable graph paper for the activInspire so that they are printable in PDF format.

Here is what I have so far …

Create new flipchart using File –> New –> Custom Size Flipchart
Set page size to 850 x 1100 (8.5″ x 11″ right!)
Open grid designer (Ctrl-Shift G OR simply right click on page)
Click Visible and Allow snap
Set Thumbnail scale, default scale, and scale step to 0.50
Change “X start” to 100
Change Y start to 100
Leave X step and Y step set to 32
Change color to RGB 170, 170, 255
Leave Grid Style, Line Style, and Direction
Click Close

Open Camera [ Tools --> Camera --> Area Snapshot ]
Line up edges of area so that you can just see the edge
Click on New Page
Check the graph – is it the size you want? Are the edges clean? Redo if necessary.
Lock the Image
Now save that page in your resources.

Ideas to enhance these graphs:
Combine this with the shape tool to do bold X and Y lines for labeling
Make different size graphs and save in your resources.

And now you have made your own set of graph paper that is printable to PDF.

Here is a little video of the process (Sorry about the poor grammar):

If you do not want to mess around with the area snapshot then use the following settings within the snapshot tool:

    Left 707

    Top 103

    Width 687

    Height 837
